Empowering Families & Navigating Pathways with Purpose
Navigating disability support and school systems can often feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. At Douglas Disability Education & Coordination, I bridge the gap between complex bureaucracy and meaningful, human-centered support. My goal is simple: to give individuals, families, and carers the advocate and guide they need to feel heard, supported, and confident in their child’s future.
Education & Rights Strategy
With 21 years in Special Education and school leadership, including serving as a School Principal, I bring deep expertise in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Standards for Education 2005. My experience spans Positive Behaviour Support, Protective Behaviours, AAC communication, and social skills design, alongside moderating functional curricula to ensure every student receives meaningful, tailored accommodations that work in practice.
NDIS & Post-School Transitions
As an NDIS Support Coordinator, Big Picture Student-Centred Planning expereince, and former VET (Vocational Education) Coordinator, I specialise in mapping out practical post-school pathways. I leverage Values Education and individualized goal-setting to help participants build independent life skills, navigate funding, and transition smoothly into vocational training and employment.
